Retirement Dreams

One of my favorite things to do is imagine all the great things I will be able to do when I retire.  I have lots of friends are work who are retiring soon, and I am a bit jealous!

DRS Designs has come out with some really awesome retirement images, and I used several of them on my cards today.

To make the card base on my first card, I sponged on some SU! Ink and some Distressed walnut stain ink and threw on some water (seriously - I just threw it on - super fun).  I stamped and then sponged the other panels with As You Retire and See You Later Alligator.  I fussy cut and added the Silhouette Male Golfer image.

On my next card I swiped some SU! Yellow ink and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain on a sheet of aluminum foil and misted it with water.  I then dipped my paper in the ink and let it dry.  Next I stamped the new See You Later Alligator stamp 2 times and cut out the sunflower and butterfly sections.  I added one flower from the Polka Dot Flower Trio stamp and one butterfly from the Three Butterflies set.

I think this card would be super fun with a basket of sunflowers!

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  1. Super cards Nancy, great text panels and fabulous backgrounds - brilliant retirement cards.
Both of our next door neighbours have retired and they are always out and about and going away on holiday - I'm trying to convince my husband to retire early at the moment, I think I'm winning!

  2. I love both your distress style retirement cards, Nance....It seems like yesterday when Denny and retired..it has been 14 1/2 years for Denny and 12 years for me..oh my. Loving every minute of our retirement :-) I know you and Kenny will too. How much longer for you Nancy? TFS your beauties my friend. Hugs...

  3. Great retirement cards here! Love the background for the golfing card - it just looks perfect! The colors on the 2nd are a nice compliment to the fun saying on this one too! Retirement is wonderful - the best part is not having to deal with commuting and crazy drivers!

  4. Wonderfully done times two and sure to be appreciated :)
